Good video👍🏻I’ve been 50/50 on SOG products in the last 10 years, on the dagger issue I settled on a CS San Mai Taipan for strength and durability, the sheath has been very good with the belt sheath removed. I’ve handled the FX in store however due to sticker price for a smaller blade I declined ; maybe I would give it a second look again so I don’t set on a biased attitude, Thanks and good informative video.
It is cool but i will stick with my benchmade socp dagger for $100 cheaper. The steel is different but for a fighting knife i do not foresee myself wearing down the blade from use.
Problem is, they are made in Taiwan? Seems like usa keeps dropping there standards and letting other countries make everything but still want premium money
It’s a stainless steel. It’s also a “super steal” so it stays sharp for a really long time but is more difficult to resharpen then regular steel when it gets dull.
Maybe 50 yrs ago....and then only because there was no competition. They aren’t even remotely full tang. Not to mention adding the stupid serrations and cheapening the knife every few years. To my mind, the Cold Steel Taipan is the best dagger. That wide blade would just reek havoc on the human body Remains to be seen with this knife, but I think it is too thick for a flat grind. Either thinner stock, or do a hollow grind with this size stock. But given the realities of carrying knives, a good single edge knife is more versatile, yet still usable in a fight, which almost never happens.

I mean it’s some of the best steel on the market, hardest coating, best fit and finish, and it’s still less than a lot of benchmades and spyderco’s.
how would you carry this horizontally along your back?
I suppose it refers to carrying it on the belt but horizontally ?
